In the 26th minute, Granicerul's Andrei Florei seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Andrei Florei the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Granicerul protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Andrei Florei had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 25th minute of the game. One of Granicerul:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Stoicii:s goal. 31 minutes into the match, Stoicii's goal looked a bit too open when Jack Ares came free, but Olimpiu Oncescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 32 minutes, Laurențiu Ciocâltea mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Granicerul and the Stoicii players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Granicerul's Laurențiu Ciocâltea got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Manole Colin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Olimpiu Oncescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 38 played minutes, Granicerul's Costin Vulpe shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Olimpiu Oncescu came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Jack Ares's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Olimpiu Oncescu was relentless in the 46th minute of the game. Olimpiu Oncescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valeriu Zoreanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half Granicerul were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Claudiu Popescu made the kick off in the second half. Manole Colin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Stoicii's Remus Tilincă got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Stoicii's Olimpiu Oncescu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Stoicii from getting a goal against them. With an all-out effort, Granicerul's Olimpiu Oncescu threw himself towards the right post 55 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Manole Colin, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Mugur Aldulea struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Remus Vuia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Stoicii. Manole Colin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Olimpiu Oncescu having to interfere. In the 62nd minute, Matei Comișel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Iordache Ioneasa came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Granicerul fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Iordache Ioneasa couldn't finish the play. In the 69th minute of the match, Jack Ares tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Olimpiu Oncescu saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 73rd minute Matei Comișel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Remus Vuia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Remus Vuia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emanuel Rogoz in the 74th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jack Ares in the 77th minute of play forced Stoicii's goalkeeper Olimpiu Oncescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Remus Vuia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alexandru Zaki, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Stoicii's Mugur Aldulea was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Remus Vuia in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 81 minutes into the match, Jack Ares dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Olimpiu Oncescu, 1-4. After 85 minutes, Manole Colin made it 1-5 with a short kick to the right side. Stoicii's Olimpiu Oncescu tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Olimpiu Oncescu came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by Granicerul's Iordache Ioneasa. But to his dismay, Iordache Ioneasa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-6. After a rather tough play, Stoicii's Matei Marioara got a free kick in the 93rd minute. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Granicerul had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
