With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nazım Taci in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Olimpiu Oncescu saved Stoicii from getting behind. After 18 played minutes New York Red Bulls got a freekick which was hit by George Schiau. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nazım Taci in the 20th minute of play forced Stoicii's goalkeeper Olimpiu Oncescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Olimpiu Oncescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nazım Taci, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Matei Comișel got free with Eduardo Pereyra in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Claudiu Popescu was the one to do the kick off. Olimpiu Oncescu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nazım Taci in the 92nd minute of the match. In the 92nd minute, Nazım Taci ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Olimpiu Oncescu was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-4. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched New York Red Bulls eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
