In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind Club Atlético Timișoara's goalkeeper Albert Bratiloveanu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When the match clock showed 22 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Kunter Irmak sped through Club Atlético Timișoara's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Albert Bratiloveanu. In the 24th minute, Rareș Fânaru hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 25 minutes into the match, George Bălanescu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Albert Bratiloveanu. Club Atlético Timișoara's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that George Bălanescu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. After 32 played minutes Club Atlético Timișoara got a freekick which was hit by Dinu Corlățean. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Club Atlético Timișoara's goalkeeper Albert Bratiloveanu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Club Atlético Timișoara's Albert Bratiloveanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by George Bălanescu in the 36th minute of play. George Bălanescu might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Albert Bratiloveanu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. George Bălanescu ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 43rd minute, Florentin Petre left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The DINAMO PLOIESTI fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-5.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and George Bălanescu made a kick off. 51 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when DINAMO PLOIESTI's George Bălanescu fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. George Bălanescu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Albert Bratiloveanu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. Club Atlético Timișoara's Albert Bratiloveanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ianis Hagi in the 66th minute of play. Irinel Isaia hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. In the 69th match minute, Club Atlético Timișoara was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Irinel Isaia to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling George Bălanescu in the 71st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Albert Bratiloveanu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Iurie Nediu kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. When George Bălanescu came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the DINAMO PLOIESTI fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that George Bălanescu couldn't finish the play. 78 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Timișoara's goal looked a bit too open when Claudiu Dragan came free, but Albert Bratiloveanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Albert Bratiloveanu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kunter Irmak's shot from short distance in the 79th minute. Club Atlético Timișoara's defense didn't have a chance, in the 83rd minute, when Claudiu Dragan scored to the left of an out of position Albert Bratiloveanu, making the score, 0-6. After a rather tough play, DINAMO PLOIESTI's Claudiu Dragan got a free kick in the 87th minute. Kunter Irmak sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. George Bălanescu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Albert Bratiloveanu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Club Atlético Timișoara fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. DINAMO PLOIESTI were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
