Ernest Drogoreanu came out of the goal and Cristobal Cresencio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Pierre-Alexandre Helsens managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Brașov's supporters rose to their feet, but Pierre-Alexandre Helsens was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ernest Drogoreanu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Lucian Zafiu to strike the kick off in the second half. If De-la-Cruz De la Cruz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pierre-Alexandre Helsens in the 65th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ernest Drogoreanu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ernest Drogoreanu made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Pierre-Alexandre Helsens sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pierre-Alexandre Helsens got free with Ernest Drogoreanu in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. FC Brașov's Manole Hanganu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gheorghe Arsenescu in the 71st minute of play. Lucian Zafiu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manole Hanganu having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Pierre-Alexandre Helsens's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ernest Drogoreanu was relentless in the 81st minute of the game. In the 81st minute, Cristobal Cresencio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
