When Phoenix Strikers's Olimpiu Mustea in the 5th minute got a chance for a shot 5th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Minerul Baia Mare's goalie prevented a goal. Cristi Chiriloaie charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cristi Chiriloaie the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Minerul Baia Mare's Cristi Chiriloaie got a free kick in the 16th minute. In the 20th minute Ovidiu Popescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Calistrat Pascaru saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 22 minutes into the match, Minerul Baia Mare's goal looked a bit too open when Traian Moldovan came free, but Calistrat Pascaru reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Traian Moldovan in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Calistrat Pascaru prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 46th minute, Cristi Chiriloaie hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

Calistrat Pascaru took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Idar Reistad, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 54 minutes into the game, Olimpiu Mustea recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Calistrat Pascaru. Olimpiu Mustea showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-5. Olimpiu Mustea who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 62ndth minute tested the skills of Calistrat Pascaru when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Ionel Ciompec kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Calistrat Pascaru took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Traian Moldovan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 70 minutes into the match, Minerul Baia Mare's goalkeeper Calistrat Pascaru had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ovidiu Popescu. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Traian Moldovan in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Calistrat Pascaru saved Minerul Baia Mare from getting behind. After some careless play in the Minerul Baia Mare defense, Olimpiu Mustea kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Calistrat Pascaru. The Minerul Baia Mare fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Calistrat Pascaru should have stopped the shot. Minerul Baia Mare's Calistrat Pascaru played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Traian Moldovan in the 75th minute of play. Calistrat Pascaru showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Idar Reistad in the 85th minute of the match. Minerul Baia Mare's defense didn't have a chance, in the 88th minute, when Olimpiu Mustea scored to the left of an out of position Calistrat Pascaru, making the score, 0-9. A collision led to Phoenix Strikers getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Cristinel Eftimiu hit a great ball. Traian Moldovan who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 93rdth minute tested the skills of Calistrat Pascaru when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Cristinel Eftimiu took the ball and in the 95 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Calistrat Pascaru. Calistrat Pascaru dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-10. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Phoenix Strikers walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
