Nichifor Măgurean showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ikarios Kokkinos, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. When 林晨川 came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the FC Inter Craiova fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that 林晨川 couldn't finish the play. Nichifor Măgurean stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ikarios Kokkinos's shot from short distance in the 12th minute. In the 34th match minute, FC Inter Craiova was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Petre Prisecaru to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgar Iovanovici in the 38th minute of play forced FC U Craiova 1948's goalkeeper Gerard Costello to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ikarios Kokkinos was the one to do the kick off. In the 68th minute Sandu Chelaru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nichifor Măgurean saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sandu Chelaru fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nichifor Măgurean having to interfere. The FC Inter Craiova fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. FC U Craiova 1948 were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
