The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Nechifor Pătrașcu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alex Bungescu went, in the 3rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Paul Mirea could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but Nechifor Pătrașcu made a huge save. With an all-out effort, UM Timisoara's Nechifor Pătrașcu threw himself towards the right post 7 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Paul Mirea, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. RB Buzău's Nechifor Pătrașcu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alex Bungescu in the 9th minute of play. 12 minutes into the match, RB Buzău's goal looked a bit too open when Paul Ghimpu came free, but Nechifor Pătrașcu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 16 minutes into the match, Alex Bungescu dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Nechifor Pătrașcu, 2-0. If Paul Mirea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 21 minutes into the match, Alex Bungescu notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of RB Buzău's Nechifor Pătrașcu. Nechifor Pătrașcu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Paul Ghimpu received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Nechifor Pătrașcu came out and tried to block the shot, but Paul Ghimpu slotted it home off the left post making it 4-0 in the 25th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Ernest Oardă kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Nechifor Pătrașcu. That made the score 5-0 in the 32 minute of play. Nechifor Pătrașcu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ernest Oardă, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. UM Timisoara walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
