Milan's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Mait Mäidu who took care of the corner kick. Leif Rosin was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Viorel Moromete showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Costică Chiriloaie in the 22nd minute of the match. Costin Giugiuc made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marin Manea in the 24th minute of play. If Marin Manea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Mait Mäidu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Olimpic Sibiu booed when A.C. Milan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dumitru Nichita didn't get a good kick on the ball. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Dumitru Nichita hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Marin Manea to make the kick off. Costică Chiriloaie recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Costică Chiriloaie in the 56thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Viorel Moromete, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Costin Giugiuc made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marin Manea in the 94th minute of play. 96 minutes had been played when some careless play by A.C. Milan's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Mait Mäidu was slow to take the kick. During this time Olimpic Sibiu's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Mait Mäidu got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Costin Giugiuc quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The A.C. Milan players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
