Spectators: 8423 (Terracing: 6318, Seating: 1937, VIP seats: 168) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Sergiu Coșeriu started the match with the kick off. Sergiu Coșeriu's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 4thth minute, Viorel Moromete skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 7th minute Mait Mäidu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aurelian Coporan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aurelian Coporan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dinu Nișu in the 8th minute of the match. 10 minutes into the match, Olimpic Sibiu's Mait Mäidu sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Aurelian Coporan narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 14 minutes Academia Rio's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Mait Mäidu who took care of the corner kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dinu Nișu in the 15th minute of play forced Academia Rio's goalkeeper Aurelian Coporan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A nice corner shot did that Mait Mäidu got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Aurelian Coporan quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Sergiu Coșeriu who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 25thth minute tested the skills of Viorel Moromete when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Sergiu Coșeriu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Adrian Blănaru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A hard shot 32 in the game by Sergiu Coșeriu from a close distance when the talented Viorel Moromete managed to make a qualified save. Olimpic Sibiu's players were relieved. A collision led to Olimpic Sibiu getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Aurelian Barboni hit a great ball. Leif Rosin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aurelian Coporan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. Aurelian Coporan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mait Mäidu in the 42nd minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sergiu Coșeriu in the 46th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Viorel Moromete prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Olimpic Sibiu's Emanuel Wattmann got a free kick in the 47th minute.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dinu Nișu made a kick off. Aurelian Coporan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dinu Nișu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Academia Rio's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Dumitru Pantelimon in the 58th minute. Viorel Moromete took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sergiu Coșeriu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 67 minutes into the match, Academia Rio's goal looked a bit too open when Aurelian Barboni came free, but Aurelian Coporan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ferdinand Paz kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Aurelian Barboni succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-2 in the 71st playminute. A collision led to Olimpic Sibiu getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. He hit a great ball. Dumitru Pantelimon took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 75th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Viorel Moromete. Olimpic Sibiu's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sergiu Coșeriu in the 78th minute of play forced Olimpic Sibiu's goalkeeper Viorel Moromete to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 86th minute, Aurelian Barboni hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Viorel Moromete took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sergiu Coșeriu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 87 minutes of play, Academia Rio's Sergiu Coșeriu made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Viorel Moromete was left in no man's land by his defense there! Dinu Nișu struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Aurelian Coporan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Olimpic Sibiu. After a rather tough play, Olimpic Sibiu's Jüri Ojarand got a free kick in the 95th minute. Viorel Moromete made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dumitru Pantelimon in the 96th minute of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Olimpic Sibiu walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
