Eduard Boboc kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. Sever Pâslaru recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 4th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Aurelian Barboni came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Olimpic Sibiu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aurelian Barboni couldn't finish the play. 13 minutes into the game, Sever Pâslaru lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Viorel Moromete. Toader Bran made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dinu Nișu in the 15th minute of play. In the 20th minute Dinu Nișu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Toader Bran saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Viorel Moromete showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sever Pâslaru, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Lucrețiu Bobei managed to get in a good position for a shot. CRAIOVA JUNIOR's supporters rose to their feet, but Lucrețiu Bobei was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Viorel Moromete breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dinu Nișu in the 24th minute of play forced CRAIOVA JUNIOR's goalkeeper Toader Bran to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Viorel Moromete was out of position in the 30 minute of play, and Sever Pâslaru capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Sever Pâslaru really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. In the 32ndth minute of the game Dinu Nișu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but CRAIOVA JUNIOR's Toader Bran was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Toader Bran took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dinu Nișu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lucrețiu Bobei could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Viorel Moromete made a huge save. Viorel Moromete was a little too slow when Lucrețiu Bobei got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 38th minute. The score was now 3-0. In the 43rd minute, Lucrețiu Bobei hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dinu Nișu in the 43rd minute of play forced CRAIOVA JUNIOR's goalkeeper Toader Bran to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dinu Nișu to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute Lucrețiu Bobei shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Viorel Moromete saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Mait Mäidu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
