Iurie Cocoș made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mei Yi Xi in the 13th minute. Iurie Cocoș made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Cosmin Harbuz sent off a good shot on target. Iurie Cocoș showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cosmin Harbuz in the 23rd minute of the match. In the 27th minute Dan Tinu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mihai Domuță saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of POLI TIMISOARA booed when Scorpions -MM- was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cornel Giuverdea didn't get a good kick on the ball. The long shot by Filip Buculeasa in the 33rd minute really tested Iurie Cocoș's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 36th minute of the match Scorpions -MM- got a corner. POLI TIMISOARA's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Cornel Giuverdea ran over to the corner to take the kick. Scorpions -MM-'s Cornel Giuverdea was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Mihai Domuță in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Iurie Cocoș made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cosmin Harbuz in the 39th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicu Nichitelea in the 40th minute of play forced Scorpions -MM-'s goalkeeper Iurie Cocoș to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 44th minute, Filip Buculeasa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

POLI TIMISOARA's Taha Tanbek was substituted for Eduard Zgabei. In the 69th minute POLI TIMISOARA were awarded a corner. Filip Buculeasa went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led POLI TIMISOARA's Filip Buculeasa to fire away a dangerous shot which Iurie Cocoș despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 87th minute Nicu Nichitelea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iurie Cocoș saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 93rd minute of the match Vintilă Iftode shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Iurie Cocoș showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Dan Tinu's late challenge caught a POLI TIMISOARA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dan Tinu helped the player get up and apologised. After 94 played minutes Scorpions -MM- got a freekick which was hit by Dan Tinu. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the POLI TIMISOARA players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
