The referee felt a red card was in order, 9 minutes into the game, when Iulian Ologu put in a rough tackle. After 9 played minutes Soimusul AFC got a freekick which was hit by Iulian Ologu. Petr Kladiva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iwo Tamulewicz in the 16th minute of play. Stelian Butuc took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from George Andronic, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Costin Albulescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 23 played minutes Soimusul AFC got a freekick which was hit by Albert Alcalde. Dacians Academy's attentive Remus Armeanca managed to snatch the ball when Lucrețiu Goga made a throw-in in the 27th minute of the game. In the 27th minute Xavi Popescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Petr Kladiva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Iwo Tamulewicz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iwo Tamulewicz in the 37th minute of play forced Soimusul AFC's goalkeeper Petr Kladiva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Iwo Tamulewicz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Petr Kladiva was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After a rather tough play, Soimusul AFC's Dumitru Mascovescu got a free kick in the 75th minute. In the 77th minute, Gigi Otopeanu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 79th minute Costin Albulescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stelian Butuc saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Stelian Butuc showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gigi Otopeanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute.
