An unexpectedly hard shot by Cătălin Caranică in the 8th minute of play forced Romania's goalkeeper Leontin Racoviceanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 15 minutes into the match, Fălciu's goal looked a bit too open when Toader Burca came free, but Stelian Jurcuț reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 16 minutes into the match, Fălciu's goal looked a bit too open when Damian Şerb came free, but Stelian Jurcuț reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fălciu's Stelian Jurcuț played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Damian Şerb in the 23rd minute of play. 24 minutes into the match, Fălciu's goal looked a bit too open when Toader Burca came free, but Stelian Jurcuț reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Leontin Racoviceanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dacian Mâinea, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Fălciu's Stelian Jurcuț played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Damian Şerb in the 32nd minute of play. Fălciu's Codruț Ababei was substituted for Sebastian Seţeanu. Petrică Chificeac hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. In the 48th minute Damian Şerb shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stelian Jurcuț saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Fălciu players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Romania were winning 0-1.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Codruț Ababei was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to Romania getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. George Ghinescu hit a great ball. 56 minutes into the match, Fălciu's goal looked a bit too open when Cazimir Pătran came free, but Stelian Jurcuț reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Leontin Racoviceanu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sabin Comșa in the 63rd minute of play. Stelian Jurcuț showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Toader Spirache, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Codruț Ababei in the 78th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Leontin Racoviceanu saved Romania from getting behind. 83 minutes into the game, one of Fălciu:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Fălciu:s Stelian Jurcuț showed great skill when he stopped Cazimir Pătran:s penalty. After having played for 90 minutes, Toader Spirache managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Romania's supporters crossed their fingers, but Toader Spirache was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Toader Spirache in the 92nd minute of play forced Fălciu's goalkeeper Stelian Jurcuț to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 98th minute, Toader Burca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Romania players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
