FC U Cluj-N's Mircea Calboreanu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olimpiu Giuverdea in the 4th minute of play. Gabriel Medeleanu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ivan Florescu in the 5th minute of the match. Mircea Calboreanu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Olimpiu Giuverdea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 11th match minute, Rapiduletzu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emil Tarcea to maneuver through the defense. Mircea Calboreanu made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Nando Guerra sent off a good shot on target. 15 minutes into the match, Ivan Florescu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gabriel Medeleanu. Rapiduletzu's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ivan Florescu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. FC U Cluj-N's Mircea Calboreanu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save FC U Cluj-N from getting a goal against them. Cristian Răchiteanu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Mircea Calboreanu made a huge save. 30 minutes into the match, Rapiduletzu's goal looked a bit too open when Cazimir Cosor came free, but Gabriel Medeleanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Olimpiu Giuverdea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half FC U Cluj-N were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell 曾钢宁 to make the kick off. FC U Cluj-N's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Iosif Bălcescu in the 59th minute. In the 61st minute, Cristian Răchiteanu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mircea Calboreanu was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Ivan Florescu took the ball and in the 64 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gabriel Medeleanu. Gabriel Medeleanu dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. When Rapiduletzu's Cristian Răchiteanu in the 72nd minute got a chance for a shot 72nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC U Cluj-N's goalie prevented a goal. 73 minutes into the match, Olimpiu Giuverdea notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of FC U Cluj-N's Mircea Calboreanu. Mircea Calboreanu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. FC U Cluj-N made a substitution. Ćiro Immobile replaced Cazimir Cosor. Ivan Florescu kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. In the 81st match minute, FC U Cluj-N was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ivan Florescu to maneuver through the defense. 84 minutes into the match, Rapiduletzu's goalkeeper Gabriel Medeleanu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by A.J. Teleagă. Mircea Calboreanu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nando Guerra in the 85th minute of the match. Gabriel Medeleanu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from A.J. Teleagă went, in the 90th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score. FC U Cluj-N's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
