With a little luck, SuperDepor's Radu Tarchilă got control of the ball when Cornel Bogrea tried to sneak it across the goal line. 26 minutes into the match, Cornel Bogrea dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Radu Tarchilă, 1-1. 32 minutes into the match, Chevaliers FC's goal looked a bit too open when Călin Bolborici came free, but Fabian Lucescu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Chevaliers FC's Gică Hagi got a free kick in the 33rd minute. The audience was convinced that Iustinian Comăneci's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fabian Lucescu was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. After having played for 44 minutes, Călin Bolborici managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SuperDepor's supporters crossed their fingers, but Călin Bolborici was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Severino Jacinto might have been able to make a better finish in the 47th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fabian Lucescu. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Severino Jacinto ran back to his position shaking his head.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Radu Borza to strike the kick off in the second half. Călin Bolborici fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabian Lucescu having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Răzvan Anghel got free with Fabian Lucescu in the 61st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 62nd minute SuperDepor were awarded a corner. Rareș Elian went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Daniel Benga got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. Result 1-3. 62 minutes into the match. Fabian Lucescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Romeo Hosu, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Fabian Lucescu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Iustinian Comăneci went, in the 69th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-4 was the resulting score. Radu Tarchilă took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Radu Borza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Chevaliers FC booed when SuperDepor was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Răzvan Anghel didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cornel Bogrea in the 74th minute of play forced SuperDepor's goalkeeper Radu Tarchilă to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Iustinian Comăneci fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabian Lucescu having to interfere. SuperDepor made a substitution. Lóránt Benczur replaced Călin Bolborici. After 78 played minutes Chevaliers FC got a freekick which was hit by Niculae Posteucă. Iustinian Comăneci received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Fabian Lucescu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Emil Gârdescu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fabian Lucescu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play. After having played for 86 minutes, Emil Gârdescu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SuperDepor's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emil Gârdescu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Chevaliers FC getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Marius Geamănu hit a great ball. Fabian Lucescu came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by SuperDepor's Rareș Elian. But to his dismay, Rareș Elian quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-5. The SuperDepor fans' excitement grew in the 93rd match minute when SuperDepor's Lóránt Benczur looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-6 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. SuperDepor's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
