An unexpectedly hard shot by Anton Cãpraru in the 2nd minute of play forced Cãuseni FCA's goalkeeper Marin Vartic to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Octavian Doibani fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marin Vartic having to interfere. In the 10th minute, Ovidiu Dadu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Anton Cãpraru sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 15th match minute, Cãuseni FCA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel Cãpraru to maneuver through the defense. Anton Cãpraru struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Marin Vartic didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Zimbru. After a defensive mix-up in Cãuseni FCA's zone, Anton Cãpraru stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marin Vartic came out of the goal and Anton Cãpraru tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vlad Silvestru hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. 23 minutes into the game, Vlad Silvestru was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cãuseni FCA's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Zimbru the free kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Octavian Doibani in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marin Vartic saved Cãuseni FCA from getting behind. Marin Vartic took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anton Cãpraru, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ciprian Toma received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Anatolie Iordan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Octavian Doibani stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Cãuseni FCA's Marin Vartic proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Cãuseni FCA from getting a goal against them. Daniel Cãpraru charged in rather forcefully in the 59th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Daniel Cãpraru the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ion Corjan hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Mihail Afteni received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Anatolie Iordan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ciprian Toma blasted a shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Anatolie Iordan having to make a save. Anatolie Iordan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mihail Afteni in the 72nd minute of the match. The supporters of FC Zimbru booed when Cãuseni FCA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Cãpraru didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Anton Cãpraru had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 77th match minute, FC Zimbru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dragos Prutean to maneuver through the defense. FC Zimbru's Anatolie Iordan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mihail Afteni in the 82nd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mihail Afteni in the 85th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Anatolie Iordan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. FC Zimbru's Anton Cãpraru got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Anatolie Iordan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Cãuseni FCA fans cheered their team off the field, for while FC Zimbru had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
