Octavian Iovu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Frasin's Radu Sava played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Octavian Iovu in the 39th minute of play. The corner led Frasin's Viorel Ciocan to fire away a dangerous shot which Florin Curcã despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After the first half Frasin were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Florin Curcã made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Andrei Ciubuc sent off a good shot on target. When Ion Braga fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rezina's protests and gave Ion Braga a yellow card for diving instead.
