Mihai Covali fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bogdan Griceanu having to interfere. Ghenadie Purice struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Bogdan Griceanu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cãrpineni. Mircea Ilies kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. 26 minutes into the match, Mihai Covali had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bogdan Griceanu. Cornell University's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mihai Covali was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Ghenadie Purice recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The attack was good, but when Mihai Covali in the 30th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Ghenadie Purice fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bogdan Griceanu having to interfere. Ghenadie Purice sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ghenadie Purice in the 41st minute of play forced Cornell University's goalkeeper Bogdan Griceanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 43rd minute, Cãrpineni's Ghenadie Purice ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Bogdan Griceanu. Bogdan Griceanu yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-0. Ghenadie Purice sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ghenadie Purice to make the kick off. After 51 minutes of play, Cãrpineni's Ghenadie Purice made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bogdan Griceanu was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a little luck, Cãrpineni's Ruslan Condraciuc got control of the ball when Grigore Gonta tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cornell University's Vlad Creangã got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 69thth minute of the game Mihai Covali who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cornell University's Bogdan Griceanu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Vlad Creangã's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ruslan Condraciuc read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. With a little luck, Cãrpineni's Ruslan Condraciuc got control of the ball when Igor Papuc tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Ghenadie Purice had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Florin Cociu was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 81 minutes had been played. A collision led to Cãrpineni getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Florin Cociu hit a great ball. Ruslan Condraciuc showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cãlin Cornea, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Cornell University's zone, Mihai Covali stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bogdan Griceanu came out of the goal and Mihai Covali tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cornell University's goalkeeper Bogdan Griceanu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Bogdan Griceanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pavel Josan, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. In the 91st minute of the match Cãrpineni got a corner. Cornell University's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Iulian Cobzar ran over to the corner to take the kick. Igor Papuc hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. Cãrpineni walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
