Ilie Plesca scored 0-1 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Iosif Gusã, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 27 minutes into the match, Ivancea CSF's goal looked a bit too open when Ilie Plesca came free, but Iosif Gusã reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in FC Rapid's zone, Stefan Panaite stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Maxim Istrate came out of the goal and Stefan Panaite tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 31st minute, Stefan Panaite got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 35th minute, Lilian Bordei hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ciprian Pârlea in the 40th minute of play forced Ivancea CSF's goalkeeper Iosif Gusã to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Stefan Panaite had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 46th minute, Ciprian Pârlea made a precise shot to the right of Iosif Gusã. Ivancea CSF's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The wind increased when Ilie Plesca made the kick off in the second half. Ilie Plesca received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Iosif Gusã came out and tried to block the shot, but Ilie Plesca slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 59th minute. After having played for 62 minutes, Stefan Panaite managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Petru Conac kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. After 72 played minutes, FC Rapid's Bogdan Cerbu shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Iosif Gusã came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in FC Rapid reached it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ciprian Pârlea got free with Iosif Gusã in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Iosif Gusã took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ilie Plesca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 76 minutes of play, Ivancea CSF's Stefan Panaite made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Maxim Istrate was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ilie Plesca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iosif Gusã having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Ciprian Pârlea kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Iosif Gusã. That made the score 1-4 in the 84 minute of play. Dorin Arnãut struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Maxim Istrate didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ivancea CSF. Nicolae Tâbârnã fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maxim Istrate having to interfere. Stefan Panaite recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. FC Rapid walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
