Teodor Coadã got his second yellow card in the match during the 18th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. A collision led to FC Sheriff Tiraspol getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Teodor Coadã hit a great ball. After 20 minutes, Petru Blanari mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Sheriff Tiraspol and the Vulcãnesti FCA players grew even worse after the yellow card. Petru Blanari kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. In the 22nd minute Marcel Palamarciuc shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alexandru Vrânceanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bogdan Platon's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alexandru Vrânceanu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. Iulian Izãreanu's late challenge caught a FC Sheriff Tiraspol's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dorel Cobzar lost his temper 47 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 47 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for FC Sheriff Tiraspol! Alexandru Vrânceanu came out of the goal in the 49th minute to try and stop a shot by Vulcãnesti FCA's Marcel Palamarciuc. But to his dismay, Marcel Palamarciuc quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Marcel Palamarciuc made a kick off. The supporters of Vulcãnesti FCA booed when FC Sheriff Tiraspol was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vlad Curcã didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vlad Musteatã scored 2-1 in the 62nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alexandru Vrânceanu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 65th minute, Vlad Musteatã got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Marian Conac fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Sheriff Tiraspol's protests and gave Marian Conac a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, FC Sheriff Tiraspol's Marian Conac got a free kick in the 66th minute. Bogdan Platon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexandru Vrânceanu having to interfere. In the 71st minute, Vlad Curcã got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcel Palamarciuc in the 74th minute of play forced FC Sheriff Tiraspol's goalkeeper Alexandru Vrânceanu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Bogdan Platon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vulcãnesti FCA's supporters rose to their feet, but Bogdan Platon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alexandru Vrânceanu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bogdan Platon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. FC Sheriff Tiraspol's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Vulcãnesti FCA had won, even though FC Sheriff Tiraspol had held more of the ball.
