In the 7th minute of the match Sergiu Griceanu sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Iosif Chiritã skillfully saved the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Emilian Platon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vulcãnesti FCA's supporters rose to their feet, but Emilian Platon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ion Ureche breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
