Vulcãnesti FCA's Iosif Chiritã proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Vulcãnesti FCA from getting a goal against them. Iosif Chiritã made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Viorel Tabãrã sent off a good shot on target. Iosif Chiritã was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Nichifor Vornic showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-0 in the 43 minute of play. Viorel Tabãrã scored 4-0 in the 46th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Iosif Chiritã, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Florin Triboi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Vulcãnesti FCA's zone, Marius Burduja stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Iosif Chiritã came out of the goal and Marius Burduja tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vulcãnesti FCA's Iosif Chiritã played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Viorel Tabãrã in the 73rd minute of play. When Cãlin Dumitras fell near the penalty area in the 74th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vulcãnesti FCA's protests and gave Cãlin Dumitras a yellow card for diving instead. Iosif Chiritã showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Florin Triboi, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Viorel Tabãrã took the ball and in the 78 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Iosif Chiritã. Iosif Chiritã dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. Iosif Chiritã made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Florin Triboi in the 84th minute of play. Iosif Chiritã showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Viorel Tabãrã, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Marcel Palamarciuc charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marcel Palamarciuc the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 91st match minute, Vulcãnesti FCA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcel Palamarciuc to maneuver through the defense. Florin Triboi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Iosif Chiritã tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. FC Rapid Bucuresti fully deserved thier win.
