In the 24th minute, Iurie Damaschin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mihail Doga was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After 28 played minutes Cimislia got a freekick which was hit by Eugen Speianu. In the 29th minute of the match Emil Griceanu sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mihail Doga skillfully saved the ball. Santos FC Moldova's Ciprian Pricop played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teodor Arnãut in the 34th minute of play. Ruslan Buruianã received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ciprian Pricop came out and tried to block the shot, but Ruslan Buruianã slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 38th minute. Emil Damian was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 45th minute. Cimislia's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Emil Damian sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Emil Damian made the kick off in the second half. Mihail Doga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sandu Ciocan, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Emil Damian sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dan Afteni scored 2-2 in the 57th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mihail Doga, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Mihail Doga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emil Griceanu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ciprian Pricop showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Teodor Arnãut in the 80th minute of the match. When Ruslan Buruianã fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cimislia's protests and gave Ruslan Buruianã a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Santos FC Moldova booed when Cimislia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ruslan Buruianã didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 84th minute, Dorel Delinschi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
