The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Artis Modernieks showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 14 minutes into the match, Askolds Saubergs notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of PFK Makaseni's Alberts Takeris. Alberts Takeris was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a rather tough play, PFK Makaseni's Einārs Lielbiksis got a free kick in the 20th minute. Emanuels Kārkliņš, 21 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 21st minute, Einārs Lielbiksis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Artis Modernieks made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Norberts Cērpiņš in the 27th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ralfs Baltauss in the 28th minute of play forced PFK Makaseni's goalkeeper Alberts Takeris to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Artis Modernieks showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Norberts Cērpiņš in the 34th minute of the match. Alberts Takeris took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ralfs Baltauss, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Askolds Saubergs managed to get in a good position for a shot. Valda's supporters rose to their feet, but Askolds Saubergs was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alberts Takeris breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Justs Demids stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Valda's goalkeeper Artis Modernieks had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Norberts Cērpiņš. Valda's Artis Modernieks proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Valda from getting a goal against them. Alberts Takeris showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Askolds Saubergs, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. PFK Makaseni's Norberts Cērpiņš got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 64 minutes into the match, Valda's goal looked a bit too open when Justs Demids came free, but Artis Modernieks reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
