Spectators: 7000 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 2000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Sergejs Drauds took the kick off in the first half of the match. Valgudis Dārzs might have been able to make a better finish in the 3rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Kaspars Lipsts. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Valgudis Dārzs ran back to his position shaking his head. Olafs Raguelis blasted a shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kaspars Lipsts having to make a save. A collision led to Sleika getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Bernhards Kodacs hit a great ball. After 13 played minutes Sleika got a freekick which was hit by Viesturs Sraibers. Dainis Laktiņš kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. 17 minutes into the match, Lauris Rebenis had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kaspars Lipsts. Sleika's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lauris Rebenis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. In the 20th minute Sergejs Drauds shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kostas Birbas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Valgudis Dārzs's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kaspars Lipsts read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. Viesturs Sraibers kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Valgudis Dārzs managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Melluži's supporters rose to their feet, but Valgudis Dārzs was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kaspars Lipsts breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Valgudis Dārzs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Valgudis Dārzs recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sergejs Drauds hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. FC Melluži were awarded a corner in the 35th minute after Sleika's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Āris Cicis took the corner. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oļģerts Ezermala in the 36th minute of play forced Sleika's goalkeeper Kaspars Lipsts to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sleika's goalkeeper Kaspars Lipsts, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Kaspars Lipsts made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oļģerts Ezermala in the 43rd minute of play. Lauris Rebenis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kaspars Lipsts having to interfere.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Oļģerts Ezermala was the one to do the kick off. Oļģerts Ezermala received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Kaspars Lipsts tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 55 played minutes Sleika got a freekick which was hit by Ilmārs Kalkauss. A collision led to Sleika getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Ilmārs Kalkauss hit a great ball. Dainis Laktiņš blasted a shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Kaspars Lipsts having to make a save. Oļģerts Ezermala received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Kaspars Lipsts tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Valgudis Dārzs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Olafs Raguelis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Kaspars Lipsts made a huge save. In the 70th match minute, Sleika was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andis Bujanovskis to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, FC Melluži's Olafs Raguelis got a free kick in the 72nd minute. The supporters of FC Melluži booed when Sleika was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emanuels Turkenbergs didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Lauris Rebenis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 82 played minutes FC Melluži got a freekick which was hit by Dainis Laktiņš. After a rather tough play, FC Melluži's Raits Štolcs got a free kick in the 84th minute. Valgudis Dārzs received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Kaspars Lipsts tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 91st minute, Oļģerts Ezermala got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
