An unexpectedly hard shot by Ingus Štokenbergs in the 4th minute of play forced Polkas's goalkeeper Gints Levans to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Normunds Purviņš hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. 12 minutes in the game, Imants Zvaigznonis fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Gints Levans having to interfere. 14 minutes into the match, Polkas's goal looked a bit too open when Ingus Štokenbergs came free, but Gints Levans reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gints Levans took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daumants Venners, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Armands Bumaga-Papīrs showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Druvis Botāns, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. 25 minutes into the match, Edijs Mežols had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Armands Bumaga-Papīrs. SK Riga 1998's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edijs Mežols was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. After a rather tough play, SK Riga 1998's Daumants Venners got a free kick in the 28th minute. Armands Bumaga-Papīrs made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Druvis Botāns in the 29th minute of play. SK Riga 1998's Armands Bumaga-Papīrs played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Normunds Purviņš in the 32nd minute of play. In the 32nd minute, Daumants Venners hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Polkas's Filips Dilba got a free kick in the 33rd minute. After a rather tough play, Polkas's Sandis Tobiass got a free kick in the 36th minute. Armands Bumaga-Papīrs took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edijs Mežols, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 42 minutes into the game, Druvis Botāns cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Armands Bumaga-Papīrs was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Armands Bumaga-Papīrs showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Viesturs Vidavs in the 45th minute of the match. After 47 minutes, Alens Blodziņš mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Polkas and the SK Riga 1998 players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 47 played minutes Polkas got a freekick which was hit by Alens Blodziņš. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The wind increased when Druvis Botāns made the kick off in the second half. Armands Bumaga-Papīrs showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Druvis Botāns, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Armands Bumaga-Papīrs came out of the goal in the 55th minute to try and stop a shot by Polkas's Edijs Mežols. But to his dismay, Edijs Mežols quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. Gints Levans showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ingus Štokenbergs, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Viesturs Vidavs fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armands Bumaga-Papīrs having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in SK Riga 1998's zone, Edijs Mežols stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Armands Bumaga-Papīrs came out of the goal and Edijs Mežols tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, SK Riga 1998's Armands Bumaga-Papīrs got control of the ball when Edijs Mežols tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 71st minute, Druvis Botāns reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Armands Bumaga-Papīrs. The goal made the score 1-6. Gints Snebergs made in the 74th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Imants Zvaigznonis immediately put the ball in play. When Edijs Mežols came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the Polkas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edijs Mežols couldn't finish the play. Edijs Mežols received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Armands Bumaga-Papīrs came out and tried to block the shot, but Edijs Mežols slotted it home off the left post making it 1-7 in the 77th minute. Normunds Purviņš struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Armands Bumaga-Papīrs didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Polkas. In the 87th minute, Polkas's Druvis Botāns ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Armands Bumaga-Papīrs. Armands Bumaga-Papīrs yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-8. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Druvis Botāns during the 91st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Polkas getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Druvis Botāns hit a great ball. Gints Levans came out of the goal in the 92nd minute to try and stop a shot by SK Riga 1998's Ingus Štokenbergs. But to his dismay, Ingus Štokenbergs quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-8. In the 97th minute, Imants Zvaigznonis made a precise shot to the right of Gints Levans. Polkas's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-8.
