In the 3rd minute Ingus Štokenbergs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Muammer Taşcıoğlu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 4th minute of the match SK Riga 1998 got a corner. FC Nereta's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ingus Štokenbergs ran over to the corner to take the kick. Ingus Štokenbergs made a great header on SK Riga 1998's corner, it was just that FC Nereta's Muammer Taşcıoğlu managed to reach the ball for a save. When Mário Modesto came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the FC Nereta fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mário Modesto couldn't finish the play. The supporters of FC Nereta booed when SK Riga 1998 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dāvids Svikulis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Armands Bumaga-Papīrs made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ēriks Mincis in the 12th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Ēriks Mincis kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Armands Bumaga-Papīrs. That made the score 1-0 in the 12 minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mário Modesto got free with Armands Bumaga-Papīrs in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ēriks Mincis scored 2-0 in the 25th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Armands Bumaga-Papīrs, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Mário Modesto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Armands Bumaga-Papīrs showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pavel Tankovich in the 33rd minute of the match. After 36 played minutes SK Riga 1998 got a freekick which was hit by Indars Vasmuss. In the 42nd minute, Mário Modesto ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Armands Bumaga-Papīrs was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mário Modesto stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Ēriks Mincis managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Nereta's supporters rose to their feet, but Ēriks Mincis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Armands Bumaga-Papīrs breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Armands Bumaga-Papīrs came out of the goal in the 63rd minute to try and stop a shot by FC Nereta's Pavel Tankovich. But to his dismay, Pavel Tankovich quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. 68 minutes into the match, Pavel Tankovich notched a goal, 6-0, to the right of SK Riga 1998's Armands Bumaga-Papīrs. Armands Bumaga-Papīrs was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 80 minutes of play, FC Nereta's Mário Modesto made it 8-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Armands Bumaga-Papīrs was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Ēriks Mincis managed to get in a good position for a shot. SK Riga 1998's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mário Modesto was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 9-0.
