Skaidris Mačulis could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Armands Bumaga-Papīrs made a huge save. Armands Bumaga-Papīrs was a little too slow when Normunds Mulareks got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 18th minute. The score was now 1-0. 22 minutes into the match, SK Riga 1998's goalkeeper Armands Bumaga-Papīrs had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Skaidris Mačulis. SK Riga 1998's Armands Bumaga-Papīrs proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save SK Riga 1998 from getting a goal against them. Balvis Pileģis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Armands Bumaga-Papīrs having to interfere. In the 27th minute Normunds Mulareks shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armands Bumaga-Papīrs saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Normunds Mulareks in the 28th minute of play forced SK Riga 1998's goalkeeper Armands Bumaga-Papīrs to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 30th minute Normunds Mulareks shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Armands Bumaga-Papīrs saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 31st minute, Miķelis Botāns hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Skaidris Mačulis came free with the goalkeeper in the 45th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Armands Bumaga-Papīrs could save by the left post. The supporters of FC Royal Academy booed when SK Riga 1998 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Miķelis Botāns didn't get a good kick on the ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ingus Štokenbergs stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 65th minute of the match, Ingus Štokenbergs tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Kristiāns Orluks saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 69 minutes into the match, SK Riga 1998's goal looked a bit too open when Balvis Pileģis came free, but Armands Bumaga-Papīrs reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Skaidris Mačulis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 73 minutes into the match, SK Riga 1998's goal looked a bit too open when Normunds Mulareks came free, but Armands Bumaga-Papīrs reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 74th minute, Daumants Venners hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 74th minute of the match Aļģirts Hidekels sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Armands Bumaga-Papīrs skillfully saved the ball. Armands Bumaga-Papīrs showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Skaidris Mačulis in the 75th minute of the match. FC Royal Academy walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
