In the 5th minute, SKONTO FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Alberigo Sacchi fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Ilgonis Nosuls recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. SKONTO FC's Agris Vatmanis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ilgonis Nosuls in the 12th minute of play. Agris Vatmanis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ilgonis Nosuls, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Agris Vatmanis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rahim Ağaoğlu in the 16th minute of the match. In the 18th match minute, Neftchi Baku FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antonello Tarantini to maneuver through the defense. Inesis Dimpēteris kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. If Alberigo Sacchi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee gave SKONTO FC a penalty, 40 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Dans Kauskals, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Neftchi Baku FC's Visvaldis Petruks. 1-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Rahim Ağaoğlu managed to get in a good position for a shot. Neftchi Baku FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Rahim Ağaoğlu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ilgonis Nosuls stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Bruninho Mandrak charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bruninho Mandrak the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of SKONTO FC booed when Neftchi Baku FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bruninho Mandrak didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 58th match minute, SKONTO FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juris Čiriks to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Neftchi Baku FC's Visvaldis Petruks got control of the ball when Valts Markitāns tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rahim Ağaoğlu might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Agris Vatmanis. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mintauts Ekšteins didn't get a good kick on the ball. 78 minutes into the game, Alfons Fausts recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Visvaldis Petruks. Alfons Fausts showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-2. SKONTO FC's Agris Vatmanis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ilgonis Nosuls in the 83rd minute of play. Neftchi Baku FC's Rahim Ağaoğlu got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 89 minutes into the match, Neftchi Baku FC's goal looked a bit too open when Dans Kauskals came free, but Visvaldis Petruks reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 91st minute, Dailis Miljons left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SKONTO FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-3. 94 minutes into the game, Dzidris Birkmanis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Neftchi Baku FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SKONTO FC the free kick. Dzidris Birkmanis hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. Visvaldis Petruks showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfons Fausts in the 95th minute of the match. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
