Spectators: 10828 (Terracing: 8122, Seating: 2490, VIP seats: 216) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Michal Noworolnik took the kick off in the first half of the match. 8 minutes into the match, FC Riga's goal looked a bit too open when Antonio Lluis came free, but Saivis Kikals reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Digmārs Biete made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olof Hegg in the 10th minute of play. FC Riga's Saivis Kikals proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save FC Riga from getting a goal against them. In the 12th minute, GAUJA's Antonio Lluis dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. When the match had gone on for 15 minutes, Kip Bout put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Digmārs Biete. GAUJA's Digmārs Biete played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kip Bout in the 18th minute of play. After 19 minutes GAUJA's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Voldemārs Cariņš who took care of the corner kick. 22 minutes into the match, Kaspars Ketris notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of GAUJA's Digmārs Biete. Digmārs Biete was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Digmārs Biete stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Olof Hegg's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. In the 27th minute Olof Hegg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Digmārs Biete saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Digmārs Biete showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Olof Hegg, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. 37 minutes into the match, GAUJA's goal looked a bit too open when Kip Bout came free, but Digmārs Biete reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Antonio Lluis kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Saivis Kikals made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from German Silvanito in the 46th minute of play. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kip Bout to make the kick off. In the 51st minute, Kaspars Ketris reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Digmārs Biete. The goal made the score 1-3. The throw-in from Ulvis Cetmens in the 58th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by FC Riga's Aleksandrs Meijers. FC Riga were awarded a corner in the 61th minute after GAUJA's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Voldemārs Cariņš took the corner. The corner led FC Riga's Aleksandrs Meijers to fire away a dangerous shot which Digmārs Biete despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. If Kaspars Ketris had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 66th minute of the match, Olof Hegg tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Digmārs Biete saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The supporters of FC Riga booed when GAUJA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ulvis Cetmens didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 68th play minute Kip Bout came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Digmārs Biete. 1-4. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Michal Noworolnik in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Saivis Kikals prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Olof Hegg received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Digmārs Biete tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of FC Riga booed when GAUJA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ion Ţiriac didn't get a good kick on the ball. With his leg Digmārs Biete managed to avoid a goal in the 79thth minute, when FC Riga's Kip Bout fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When the match clock showed 81 minutes, the score became 1-5 when Kaspars Ketris sped through GAUJA's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Digmārs Biete. Saivis Kikals made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cazimir Slătineanu in the 88th minute of play. When the match was over FC Riga could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than GAUJA throughout the match.
