In the 18th match minute, GAUJA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ulvis Cetmens to maneuver through the defense. GAUJA's Digmārs Biete played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olof Hegg in the 22nd minute of play. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kip Bout made a kick off. Ulvis Cetmens charged in rather forcefully in the 51st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The audience was convinced that Antonio Lluis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Saivis Kikals was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game. In the 55th minute, Olof Hegg left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Riga fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. After 78 played minutes GAUJA got a freekick which was hit by Maigonis Vaktnieks. FC Riga's Vismants Kukurudzjaks was substituted for Marin Ailenei. Zigismunds Piekalns hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Saivis Kikals made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antonio Lluis in the 85th minute of play. Digmārs Biete showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kaspars Ketris in the 88th minute of the match. FC Riga walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
