But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Olof Hegg couldn't finish the play. Kaspars Ketris struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Pål Bergmann didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Riga. After having played for 23 minutes, Kip Bout managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Riga's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kip Bout was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. DZINTARS's Pål Bergmann played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kip Bout in the 29th minute of play. In the 34th minute Kip Bout shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pål Bergmann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 35thth minute of the game Kip Bout who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but DZINTARS's Pål Bergmann was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ģirts Ozols fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Saivis Kikals having to interfere. Pål Bergmann showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Olof Hegg in the 42nd minute of the match.

The wind increased when Kip Bout made the kick off in the second half. In the 50th minute, DZINTARS's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Kaspars Ketris fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Olof Hegg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pål Bergmann having to interfere. Pål Bergmann made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kaspars Ketris in the 56th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ģirts Ozols in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Saivis Kikals saved FC Riga from getting behind. If Kārlis Dzintars had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to DZINTARS getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Kristofers Pielis hit a great ball. Voldemārs Cariņš, 74 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The supporters of FC Riga booed when DZINTARS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Alberto Vidal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Voldemārs Cariņš recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Kip Bout managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Riga's supporters rose to their feet, but Kip Bout was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pål Bergmann breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Saivis Kikals took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henrihs Linkūns, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Henrihs Linkūns fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Saivis Kikals having to interfere. FC Riga's Vismants Kukurudzjaks was substituted for Marin Ailenei. The audience was convinced that Ģirts Ozols's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Saivis Kikals was relentless in the 91st minute of the game. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
