He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Fk Kurzeme reached it. In the 7thth minute of the game Ilmārs Kopāns who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Insane Raccoons FC's Mareks Vārpiņš was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Fk Kurzeme booed when Insane Raccoons FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Batu Ağaverdi didn't get a good kick on the ball. A very good chance. 26 minutes into the match, Insane Raccoons FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gastons Kapaklis came free, but Mareks Vārpiņš reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lars Setz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedro Luís Fantini in the 27th minute of the match. Fk Kurzeme's Lars Setz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Fk Kurzeme from getting a goal against them. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Severīns Pirtslāva to make the kick off.
