The referee ignored FK Tornado's protests and gave 毛震翔 a yellow card for diving instead. After 4 played minutes FK Tornado got a freekick which was hit by 毛震翔. When the match had gone on for 6 minutes, Kip Bout put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Sigit Sulaksana. Sigit Sulaksana took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kip Bout, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match clock showed 15 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Kaspars Ketris sped through FK Tornado's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Sigit Sulaksana. FC Riga's Saivis Kikals played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by He Chen Xi in the 23rd minute of play. If Kip Bout had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sigit Sulaksana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kaspars Ketris in the 28th minute of play. FC Riga were awarded a corner in the 30th minute after FK Tornado's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Voldemārs Cariņš took the corner. 35 minutes into the game, Luisão Linares was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Riga's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FK Tornado the free kick. After 36 played minutes FC Riga got a freekick which was hit by Luisão Linares. Saivis Kikals showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arkādijs Vietnieks in the 36th minute of the match.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Arkādijs Vietnieks made a kick off. Sigit Sulaksana stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Olof Hegg's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. When FC Riga's Kip Bout in the 64th minute got a chance for a shot 64th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FK Tornado's goalie prevented a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kip Bout got free with Sigit Sulaksana in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 73 minutes into the match, FK Tornado's goalkeeper Sigit Sulaksana had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kaspars Ketris. Sigit Sulaksana made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kaspars Ketris in the 84th minute. Kaspars Ketris could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Sigit Sulaksana made a huge save. FC Riga made a substitution. Vismants Kukurudzjaks replaced Marin Ailenei. The FC Riga players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
