In the 9th minute of the match FC Riga got a corner. FK BJSS's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Voldemārs Cariņš ran over to the corner to take the kick. Toms Boze took the ball and in the 11 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Saivis Kikals. Saivis Kikals dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Sidnei Silveira's late challenge caught a FK BJSS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sidnei Silveira helped the player get up and apologised. Sidnei Silveira hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Saivis Kikals showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Toms Boze, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Alnis Mežavecis was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Saivis Kikals showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Toms Boze, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. 92 minutes into the match, FK BJSS's goal looked a bit too open when Olof Hegg came free, but Alnis Mežavecis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
