Linas Malakauskas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bernardas Mačiulis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Einaras Abakevičius, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. FC Darina's Bernardas Mačiulis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save FC Darina from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, FC Darina's Bernardas Mačiulis got control of the ball when Žydrūnas Gabrys tried to sneak it across the goal line. Žydrūnas Gabrys might have been able to make a better finish in the 24th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bernardas Mačiulis. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Žydrūnas Gabrys ran back to his position shaking his head. Linas Malakauskas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Romas Grikšas in the 26th minute of the match. If Romas Grikšas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, FC Darina's Henrikas Jonušas got a free kick in the 36th minute. Žydrūnas Gabrys fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardas Mačiulis having to interfere. In the 43rd minute Henrikas Jonušas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Linas Malakauskas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Irtautas Norvilas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardas Mačiulis having to interfere. Žydrūnas Gabrys scored 1-0 in the 47th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bernardas Mačiulis, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Romas Grikšas made the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute Žydrūnas Gabrys shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernardas Mačiulis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to FC Darina getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Henrikas Jonušas hit a great ball. In the last second Linas Malakauskas throw himself and got hold of the ball when Petras Ostrauskas in the 59thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Bernardas Mačiulis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Žydrūnas Gabrys, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. 62 minutes into the game, Henrikas Jonušas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Darina's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mistakes Were Made the free kick. In the 62nd minute, Henrikas Jonušas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Einaras Abakevičius had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Einaras Abakevičius in the 71st minute of play forced FC Darina's goalkeeper Bernardas Mačiulis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mistakes Were Made's supporters crossed their fingers, but Žydrūnas Gabrys was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 96 played minutes Romas Grikšas rounded Mistakes Were Made's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-1.
