Arne Lindsten sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 6 minutes into the game, Alvydas Staponkus was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Versmė Birštonas's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC RIM&SON the free kick. In the 6th minute, one of Versmė Birštonas:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Versmė Birštonas. Versmė Birštonas:s Aloyzas Kumpis showed great skill when he stopped Vidmantas Alvinskas:s penalty. After a rather tough play, Versmė Birštonas's Vaclovas Sereika got a free kick in the 8th minute. When the match had gone on for 13 minutes, Sikstas Zaveckas put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Raimondas Skinderis. Aloyzas Kumpis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vykintas Bacys in the 16th minute of play. If Vykintas Bacys had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vykintas Bacys in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aloyzas Kumpis prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Aloyzas Kumpis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vykintas Bacys in the 28th minute of the match. After 30 minutes, Vykintas Bacys made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Versmė Birštonas's Aloyzas Kumpis tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Aloyzas Kumpis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arne Lindsten in the 34th minute of play. After some careless play in the Versmė Birštonas defense, Vykintas Bacys kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Aloyzas Kumpis. The Versmė Birštonas fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aloyzas Kumpis should have stopped the shot. FC RIM&SON's Vykintas Bacys got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Versmė Birštonas's zone, Nedas Andrašiūnas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aloyzas Kumpis came out of the goal and Nedas Andrašiūnas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

After 54th play minutes Arne Lindsten shot 1-3, a short shot which went by Aloyzas Kumpis and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 64th minute of the match FC RIM&SON got a corner. Versmė Birštonas's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Arne Lindsten ran over to the corner to take the kick. Arne Lindsten succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-4 in the 67th playminute. FC RIM&SON made a substitution. Narūnas Guzas replaced Eduardas Dokšas. With his leg Aloyzas Kumpis managed to avoid a goal in the 72ndth minute, when FC RIM&SON's Arne Lindsten fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Aloyzas Kumpis made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vykintas Bacys in the 74th minute. In the 76th minute, Vykintas Bacys got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Versmė Birštonas's Aloyzas Kumpis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save Versmė Birštonas from getting a goal against them. Vykintas Bacys blasted a shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aloyzas Kumpis having to make a save. Bernardas Račinskas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aloyzas Kumpis having to interfere. In the 87th minute, FC RIM&SON's Vykintas Bacys ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Aloyzas Kumpis. Aloyzas Kumpis yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-5. Versmė Birštonas's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Vykintas Bacys 95 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-6. FC RIM&SON's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
