But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daugirdas Kepalas couldn't finish the play. FK Ekstra's Rytis Vilčinskas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Danas Orvidas in the 23rd minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Danas Orvidas in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rytis Vilčinskas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Palukshchey's Daugirdas Kepalas got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

Ovidijus Pečiūra kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Vilmantas Berkašius took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 63rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Aldas Miknevičius. Palukshchey's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Valdemaras Mažutis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aldas Miknevičius read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. Aldas Miknevičius showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stasys Stonkus in the 72nd minute of the match.
