Airūnas Mažvila hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Albinas Maksimavičius made an important save on a dangerous shot by Arminas Vėlius in the 7th minute. Marijus Gleveckas's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Albinas Maksimavičius firmly grabbed it by the left post. Marijus Gleveckas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Albinas Maksimavičius having to interfere. Emilis Steponavičius scored 1-0 in the 13th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Albinas Maksimavičius, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Svajūnas Mikėnas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Merūnas Arlauskas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Svajūnas Mikėnas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zenonas Jovaiša in the 22nd minute of play. Marijus Gleveckas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Albinas Maksimavičius made a huge save. Pagauyenay's Svajūnas Mikėnas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zenonas Jovaiša in the 24th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Merūnas Arlauskas in the 35th minute of play forced Pagauyenay's goalkeeper Svajūnas Mikėnas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, FK Vilnius's Tomas Zaleckas got a free kick in the 36th minute. With his leg Albinas Maksimavičius managed to avoid a goal in the 38thth minute, when Pagauyenay's Marijus Gleveckas fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 42 minutes into the match, Pagauyenay's goal looked a bit too open when Zenonas Jovaiša came free, but Svajūnas Mikėnas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Marijus Gleveckas to make the kick off. Zenonas Jovaiša could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Svajūnas Mikėnas made a huge save. The attack was good, but when Zenonas Jovaiša in the 64th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. The crowd rose to their feet as FK Vilnius's Herkus Bračas slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Svajūnas Mikėnas. That made the score 1-1 after 71 minutes of play. In the 75th minute, Herkus Bračas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Algitas Repeika during the 79th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, FK Vilnius's Algitas Repeika got a free kick in the 79th minute. Marijus Gleveckas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The FK Vilnius fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. The FK Vilnius supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing FK Vilnius would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
