FK Vilnius's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Sodelyay the free kick. With an all-out effort, FK Vilnius's Agatas Misiulis threw himself towards the right post 38 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Merūnas Arlauskas, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. FK Vilnius's Herkus Bračas got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Agatas Misiulis made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Zenonas Jovaiša sent off a good shot on target. In the 43rd minute, Airūnas Mažvila got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Airūnas Mažvila managed to get in a good position for a shot. FK Vilnius's supporters rose to their feet, but Airūnas Mažvila was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Agatas Misiulis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zenonas Jovaiša got free with Agatas Misiulis in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
