The Red Bull Kaunas fans' excitement grew in the 12th match minute when Red Bull Kaunas's Motiejus Jakubauskas looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Motiejus Jakubauskas in the 28th minute of play forced Fk Tiko's goalkeeper Benediktas Vaitkevičius to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Fk Tiko getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Artūras Bajoriūnas hit a great ball. After 37 played minutes Fk Tiko got a freekick which was hit by Aistis Jurgilas. Aivaras Alysas placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Motiejus Jakubauskas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Benediktas Vaitkevičius tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Red Bull Kaunas's goalkeeper Liudas Gailys, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Gintautas Dambrauskas fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Red Bull Kaunas's protests and gave Gintautas Dambrauskas a yellow card for diving instead. Gintautas Dambrauskas kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. If Stanislovas Dačys had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vilmantas Anusauskas might have been able to make a better finish in the 76th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Liudas Gailys. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out.
