The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Arvydas Galvočius came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the FC Gilandziai fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arvydas Galvočius couldn't finish the play. Jarūnas Petryla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Almantas Linkus in the 9th minute of the match. Lauras Čereška sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Almantas Linkus struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Jarūnas Petryla didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Gilandziai. Jarūnas Petryla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arvydas Galvočius, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. In the 23rdth minute of the game Arvydas Galvočius who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FK FTB's Jarūnas Petryla was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jarūnas Petryla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Almantas Linkus, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. 31 minutes into the game, Kastytis Dališanskis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FK FTB's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Gilandziai the free kick. The supporters of FC Gilandziai booed when FK FTB was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kastytis Dališanskis didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Almantas Linkus in the 40th minute of play forced FK FTB's goalkeeper Jarūnas Petryla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 46 minutes, Almantas Linkus put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Jarūnas Petryla. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Almantas Linkus to make the kick off. In a very dangerous position, a player in FK FTB fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 54th minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 56 minutes, FC Gilandziai's Vykintas Vitkauskas got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Jarūnas Petryla. A hard shot 60 in the game by Arvydas Galvočius from a close distance when the talented Jarūnas Petryla managed to make a qualified save. FK FTB's players were relieved. If Arvydas Galvočius had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 72 minutes into the match, FC Gilandziai's Arvydas Galvočius sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jarūnas Petryla narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jarūnas Petryla made an important save on a dangerous shot by Arvydas Galvočius in the 78th minute. FC Gilandziai were awarded a corner in the 92th minute after FK FTB's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Vykintas Vitkauskas took the corner. The corner led FC Gilandziai's Almantas Linkus to a score. 0-5 in the 93rd minute. If Arvydas Galvočius had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. FC Gilandziai had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
