Emílio Antunes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Ričardas Markulis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alfredas Raudys's late challenge caught a FC Smūgis's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alfredas Raudys helped the player get up and apologised. FC Smūgis made a substitution. Jarūnas Širvinskas replaced Aras Gužauskas. Alfredas Raudys kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jotautas Norkevičius in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eugenijus Ratkevičius prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of FBK Joskaudai booed when FC Smūgis was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Virginijus Mileška didn't get a good kick on the ball. 26 minutes in the game Juras Mikoliūnas after having made a beautiful turn got a great opportunity to score and fired away a shot that went just to the left past a relieved Eugenijus Ratkevičius. A very good opportunity. FBK Joskaudai's Alfredas Raudys got his second yellow card of the match in the 28th minute. The referee ordered Alfredas Raudys off the ground. A collision led to FBK Joskaudai getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Alfredas Raudys hit a great ball. Simonas Staškus took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 33rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ričardas Markulis. FBK Joskaudai's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After having played for 36 minutes, Kuzman Dakovski managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Smūgis's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kuzman Dakovski was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Herman Eriksson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Herman Eriksson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ričardas Markulis having to interfere. 44 minutes into the match, FBK Joskaudai's goal looked a bit too open when Kuzman Dakovski came free, but Ričardas Markulis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Herman Eriksson made a kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Herman Eriksson got free with Ričardas Markulis in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Virgilijus Puišys had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With his leg Ričardas Markulis managed to avoid a goal in the 60thth minute, when FC Smūgis's Herman Eriksson fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 65th minute, Jotautas Norkevičius hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eugenijus Ratkevičius made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Virgilijus Puišys in the 70th minute of play. Eligijus Bagdžiūnas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eugenijus Ratkevičius read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. In the 76th minute, FC Smūgis's Benediktas Buzelis dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-1. After a rather tough play, FC Smūgis's Herman Eriksson got a free kick in the 80th minute. Ričardas Markulis was a little too slow when Kuzman Dakovski got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 83rd minute. The score was now 0-2. Emílio Antunes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Herman Eriksson had several of the FBK Joskaudai's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 90 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-3 score and a disappointed Ričardas Markulis as he didn't even see the shot coming. After a defensive mix-up in FC Smūgis's zone, Virgilijus Puišys stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eugenijus Ratkevičius came out of the goal and Virgilijus Puišys tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The FC Smūgis players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
