The crowd rose to their feet as Herman Eriksson kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Paulius Aleksiūnas. That made the score 1-1 in the 10 minute of play. Mantas Geležinis kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. In the 14th match minute, FC Smūgis was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dovydas Budnikas to maneuver through the defense. With an all-out effort, FC Smūgis's Paulius Aleksiūnas threw himself towards the right post 17 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Benediktas Buzelis, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 22nd minute of the match Dovydas Budnikas shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Paulius Aleksiūnas showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 29 minutes into the game, Cheetah AFC's Gvidonas Vaičiulis nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Herman Eriksson might have been able to make a better finish in the 47th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Paulius Aleksiūnas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Herman Eriksson to strike the kick off in the second half. Emílio Antunes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Paulius Aleksiūnas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Paulius Aleksiūnas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valdas Amontas in the 55th minute of play. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Smūgis's goalkeeper Eugenijus Ratkevičius, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Kuzman Dakovski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulius Aleksiūnas having to interfere. In the 62nd minute Herman Eriksson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulius Aleksiūnas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. FC Smūgis's Benediktas Buzelis was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Paulius Aleksiūnas in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Modestas Pakerys sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 67 minutes, Alfonsas Danusevičius mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Smūgis and the Cheetah AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Modestas Pakerys struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Eugenijus Ratkevičius didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cheetah AFC. Modestas Pakerys's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eugenijus Ratkevičius read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 95th minute of play. In the 97th minute Herman Eriksson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulius Aleksiūnas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paulius Aleksiūnas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emílio Antunes in the 98th minute of play. The FC Smūgis manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Cheetah AFC to win.
