After 8 played minutes Titas Mišeikis rounded Telšiai's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. When Laimutis Keršys fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Vilkai's protests and gave Laimutis Keršys a yellow card for diving instead. After 11 played minutes FC Vilkai got a freekick which was hit by Laimutis Keršys. Benas Banevičius's late challenge caught a Telšiai's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Laimutis Bakas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Telšiai's supporters rose to their feet, but Laimutis Bakas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gytis Girdvainis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Eigirdas Grinius hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in FC Vilkai's zone, Einaras Pranckevičius stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gytis Girdvainis came out of the goal and Einaras Pranckevičius tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Osvaldas Gabrielaitis's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 75thth minute, Gytis Girdvainis skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 77th minute, Titas Mišeikis ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nedas Alzbutas was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. When the match had gone on for 81 minutes, Laimutis Bakas took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Gytis Girdvainis to make any attempt to save it. The supporters of Telšiai booed when FC Vilkai was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eigirdas Grinius didn't get a good kick on the ball. Laimutis Bakas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Gytis Girdvainis made a huge save. The FC Vilkai players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
