After 2 played minutes FK Kasoniu got a freekick which was hit by Hubertas Medišauskas. In the 7th minute Bronislovas Aukščionis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arvydas Boruta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Mazeikiu Atmosfera defense, Hubertas Medišauskas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arvydas Boruta. The Mazeikiu Atmosfera fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arvydas Boruta should have stopped the shot. Aidas Damskis charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aidas Damskis the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 17 minutes into the match, FK Kasoniu's goalkeeper Tadas Ulčinas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Germanas Kybartas. In the 18th minute, Hubertas Kukulskis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Bronislovas Aukščionis managed to get in a good position for a shot. FK Kasoniu's supporters rose to their feet, but Bronislovas Aukščionis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arvydas Boruta breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tadas Ulčinas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Petras Grunskis in the 24th minute of the match. Hubertas Medišauskas scored 1-2 in the 25th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Arvydas Boruta, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Hubertas Medišauskas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arvydas Boruta having to interfere. The supporters of Mazeikiu Atmosfera booed when FK Kasoniu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stasys Kalasiūnas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tadas Ulčinas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Germanas Kybartas in the 34th minute. Osvaldas Žiauberis kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Aidas Damskis hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. In the 38th match minute, FK Kasoniu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hubertas Medišauskas to maneuver through the defense. In the 43rd minute Bronislovas Aukščionis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arvydas Boruta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arvydas Boruta stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bronislovas Aukščionis's shot from short distance in the 48th minute. The Mazeikiu Atmosfera players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. FK Kasoniu were winning 1-2.

The wind increased when Bronislovas Aukščionis made the kick off in the second half. 54 minutes into the game, Bronislovas Aukščionis lined in a short shot 1-3 behind a frustrated Arvydas Boruta. If Hubertas Medišauskas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Stasys Kalasiūnas fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FK Kasoniu's protests and gave Stasys Kalasiūnas a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Mazeikiu Atmosfera booed when FK Kasoniu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stasys Kalasiūnas didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 67thth minute of the game Petras Grunskis who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FK Kasoniu's Tadas Ulčinas was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Tadas Ulčinas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Petras Grunskis in the 69th minute of the match. In the 70th minute, Petras Grunskis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mazeikiu Atmosfera fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. Arvydas Boruta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bronislovas Aukščionis in the 76th minute of play. After 78 minutes, Zenonas Aurila mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mazeikiu Atmosfera and the FK Kasoniu players grew even worse after the yellow card. 82 minutes into the game, Germanas Kybartas cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-3. Tadas Ulčinas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Germanas Kybartas in the 85th minute of play forced FK Kasoniu's goalkeeper Tadas Ulčinas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hubertas Medišauskas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Arvydas Boruta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. FK Kasoniu's Tadas Ulčinas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Germanas Kybartas in the 91st minute of play. Arvydas Boruta was out of position in the 93 minute of play, and Bronislovas Aukščionis capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Bronislovas Aukščionis really showed his touch with that goal: 3-4.
