When Beržas Lapėnas came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Zalgiris Vilnius fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Beržas Lapėnas couldn't finish the play. Erlandas Jatkauskas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tautrimas Petruitis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eitautas Klumbys showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vincentas Puidokas, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. In the 22nd minute, Beržas Lapėnas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Eitautas Klumbys was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. After having played for 26 minutes, Vincentas Puidokas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Zalgiris Vilnius's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vincentas Puidokas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 28 minutes into the match, Vincentas Puidokas notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of FC Dugnas's Eitautas Klumbys. Eitautas Klumbys was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Audrius Gimžauskas's late challenge caught a Zalgiris Vilnius's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Audrius Gimžauskas helped the player get up and apologised. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 31st minute of the game. One of FC Dugnas:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Zalgiris Vilnius:s goal. FC Dugnas:s Eitautas Klumbys showed great skill when he stopped Beržas Lapėnas:s penalty. Beržas Lapėnas did an outstanding performance 34 minutes into the match, when he by himself got past the opposing team's defense and with a quick scored 0-4 to the right of an irritated Eitautas Klumbys in the goal. But to his dismay, Vincentas Puidokas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-6. Beržas Lapėnas struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Eitautas Klumbys didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Zalgiris Vilnius. The supporters of FC Dugnas booed when Zalgiris Vilnius was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vitoldas Masaitis didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 71st minute of the match Audrius Gimžauskas sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Erlandas Jatkauskas skillfully saved the ball. In the 76th minute Tautrimas Petruitis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erlandas Jatkauskas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 84 minutes into the game, Beržas Lapėnas cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-7. Eitautas Klumbys was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to Zalgiris Vilnius getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Darius Rizevičius hit a great ball. If Vincentas Puidokas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Erlandas Jatkauskas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tautrimas Petruitis in the 93rd minute of the match. Vincentas Puidokas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match was over Zalgiris Vilnius could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than FC Dugnas throughout the match.
