Hilal Fathi hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. When the match had gone on for 12 minutes, Osama Abdul Alim put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Moneer Badr. Byblos Phéniciens's Omar Haddad played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bakr Umayyah in the 15th minute of play. If Bakr Umayyah had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mahdi Haddad succeeded in the game's 24th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-2. The audience was convinced that Mahdi Haddad's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Moneer Badr was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Osama Abdul Alim to make the kick off. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Omar Haddad prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 85th minute Hilal Fathi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Moneer Badr saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Moneer Badr made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mahdi Haddad in the 88th minute of play. Osama Abdul Alim who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 90thth minute tested the skills of Moneer Badr when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Bakr Umayyah fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Omar Haddad having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mousa Mujab during the 93rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Mousa Mujab kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. Moneer Badr showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mahdi Haddad in the 96th minute of the match. Byblos Phéniciens played a much better game than Ulverston United and deserved their victory. The Ulverston United players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
