Rayleigh's defense didn't have a chance, in the 19th minute, when Diya Muzzammil scored to the left of an out of position Bashar Bakri, making the score, 1-0. Hamad Muwaffaq showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Haidar Hilmi, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Rayleigh's Bashar Bakri proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Rayleigh from getting a goal against them. When Diya Muzzammil came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Croydon AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Diya Muzzammil couldn't finish the play. Qasim Talab struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Hamad Muwaffaq didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rayleigh. Bashar Bakri made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Moneer Aziz sent off a good shot on target. Rayleigh's Bashar Bakri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diya Muzzammil in the 44th minute of play. In the 47th minute Qasim Talab shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hamad Muwaffaq saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

In the 53rd minute, Zafar Maymun reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Hamad Muwaffaq. The goal made the score 1-2. Bashar Bakri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Qasim Ahsan in the 57th minute of play. Haidar Hilmi's late challenge caught a Croydon AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Haidar Hilmi helped the player get up and apologised. After 78 played minutes Rayleigh got a freekick which was hit by Haidar Hilmi. Bashar Bakri took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diya Muzzammil, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hamad Muwaffaq showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Qasim Talab in the 93rd minute of the match. The Croydon AFC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Rayleigh's performance. The match ended with a win for Rayleigh.
