The supporters of Al Yarmouk Kuwait booed when Dunton Bassett was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eyad Al Ansari to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the game, Mosalam Al Bloshi recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Gibrel Abol. In the 54th minute of the match, Charlie von Clausewitz got a very nice opportunity to score, but Gibrel Abol was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gibrel Abol prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Hamzah Al Motar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Gibrel Abol tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 83rd minute Hamzah Al Motar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gibrel Abol saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 84 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Dunton Bassett! 93 minutes into the match, Dunton Bassett's goalkeeper Gibrel Abol had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Charlie von Clausewitz. Dunton Bassett's Gibrel Abol played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hamzah Al Motar in the 95th minute of play. Al Yarmouk Kuwait's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
